Nachdem er eine Stellenanzeige in einem Magazin gelesen hat, in der nach einem begabten Küchenchef gesucht wird, meldet sich der Koch Takumi Miyasaki mit hohen Erwartungen bei der angegebenen Adresse. Bei seiner Ankunft trifft er direkt auf die junge, höchst attraktive Mira Gotokuji, die sich als Hausmeisterin um die Belange der exzentrischen Bewohner kümmert. Da diese es jedoch leid sind, von Miras fragwürdigen Kochkünsten jeden Tag beinahe umgebracht zu werden, hat sie kurzerhand beschlossen, das letzte freie Zimmer an einen begabteren Koch abzugeben.

Damit hatte Takumi wiederum nicht gerechnet, da die Anzeige missverständlich war und er eigentlich einen richtigen Job sucht. Anstatt jedoch abzusagen, nimmt er das Angebot an, da Mira ihn fasziniert. Sie besitzt kein Handy und scheint sich mit den meisten modernen Gerätschaften nicht auszukennen. Was Takumi nicht ahnt ist, dass Miras Herkunft in Wahrheit noch viel absurder ist, als er es sich zunächst gedacht hatte: Sie ist nämlich eine außerirdische Prinzessin, die auf die Erde gekommen ist, um nach etwas zu suchen, das ihren Heimatplaneten retten kann.
