The Foolish Angel Dances with the Devil (2024)

Masatora Akutsu has a problem: he is a demon sent to Earth from hell to find a charismatic leader who will give new courage to the weary troops in the everlasting battle against the strengthening angels. To this end, he sneaks into a human secondary school and quickly sets his sights on a candidate. The exchange student Lily Amane is beautiful and extremely popular, so he hopes to convince her of his cause as quickly as possible.

Unfortunately, he makes a fatal mistake. The truth is that behind Lily’s perfect façade hides a bloodthirsty angel whose goal is to purify and thus destroy as many demons as possible. Masatora already thinks that this encounter can only end in his destruction until Lily makes him an offer he can’t refuse – instead of killing him, she merely subjugates him and forces him to help her track down other demons and hand them over to her.

He reluctantly submits to his fate, but the real battle has only just begun. Both Lily and her demonic slave are constantly struggling to gain the upper hand over the other, not only on the big battlefield but also on a personal level. Soon, their own feelings get in the way and jeopardise their respective missions.

Dummerweise begeht er dabei einen schwerwiegenden Fehler: Denn in Wahrheit versteckt sich hinter Lilys perfekter Fassade ein blutrünstiger Engel, dessen Ziel es ist, möglichst viele Dämonen zu läutern und somit zu vernichten. Masatora denkt schon, dass diese Begegnung nur in seiner Vernichtung enden kann, doch dann macht Lily ihm ein Angebot, das er nicht abschlagen kann – anstatt ihn zu töten, unterwirft sie ihn nur und zwingt ihn, ihr dabei zu helfen, andere Dämonen ausfindig zu machen und somit an sie auszuliefern.

Widerwillig fügt er sich seinem Schicksal, doch der wahre Kampf hat gerade erst begonnen. Denn sowohl Lily als auch ihr dämonischer Sklave ringen konstant darum, die Oberhand über den jeweils anderen zu erlangen, nicht nur auf dem großen Schlachtfeld, sondern auch auf persönlicher Ebene. Bald schon kommen ihm ihre eigenen Gefühle in die Quere und gefährden ihre jeweiligen Missionen.
