Nachdem sein Sohn vor einem Monat entführt wurde, beauftragte er Takuboku Ishikawa mit dessen Wiederfindung. Bevor sein Sohn entführt wurde, gab es zwar vier weitere Entführungsfälle, jedoch wusste er, dass sein Sohn das wahre Ziel war, noch ehe er Rat bei Takuboku suchte. Er fand nämlich heraus, dass die Namen aller Familien, deren Kinder entführt worden waren, zusammengesetzt den Satz »Ich wurde gerächt« bildeten. Narita hatte eine Geliebte namens Ocho, beendete jedoch die Beziehung mit ihr, nachdem seine Frau schwanger wurde.
